We all had those days when we feel like we are, to achieve something, no matter how hard we work. Looming deadlines, increasing work load, multitasking, and stress may all interfere with a person’s productivity. “Work smarter, not harder” has become a famous motto among the staff. And this statement actually has merit. Sometimes, when we have too many hats to wear, to work much too soon, instead of becoming more productive, our productivity actually decreases. So, what can we do to increase our productivity?

1. A healthy Breakfast… or skip!
I don’t mean to confuse you, but there are Studies the show, that skipping the most important meal of the day, various functions of the brain. However, if you want to give this a try, it is best to ask for a doctor or a nutritionist, advice first. To work for something, you have the know-how and the right motivation. On the other hand, if you are a big fan of Breakfast and I couldn’t possibly start a day without it, by all means, eat!!! Fuel your body with the right foods. You make healthy choices.
2. Take that coffee break
Although it may be tempting to keep just plugging away at work and have your breaks, in order to meet their deadlines, it would not be a very good idea. You need to relax and take a breather. This is to give your brain a much needed break and a chance to walk and enjoy a nice Cup of coffee, maybe even meet up with other stressed colleagues.

4. Not Multitasking
Multitasking is not something the human brain is built for it. It has proven to loss of productivity. To do many things at once will take away your concentration of the crucial things is to do, the need to. This will make your work error-prone and time-consuming that you try to save time by multi-tasking in the first place. Do one thing at a time, before moving on to the next task. In this way, you can ensure that every task is fulfilled properly. You try to the tasks that take the least amount of time to reach first. These you get these tasks out of the way and allow you to focus on the more complicated ones.
5. Exercise breaks take
Is it not ironic that a post about productivity is talking about, breaks down a lot? This is because the pauses between tasks is a good way to reset your brain and prepares it for the whole new task for the future. The exercise sends a rush of much-needed oxygen to your brain, and will help you loosen your muscles, which may be in between the previous task done. Take a short walk, or a short distance, you can use your brain to stop thinking about work and “breathe”. This will help bring your focus back where it should be – your task is threatening.
6. Use tools
To follow with online tools or apps to your work and tasks for the day is a simple way to get your day organized. If you organized your day, you will not need to spend additional time trying to remember what to do next, it would already be set for you. Most of these tools are free and can be linked to your personal or business E-Mail. Just make sure that apps keep your company rules-to-risk profile.
7. Say no to meetings
Meetings take time. And a lot of the time, these meetings are not really necessary. If you have to do a lot of things, and if someone schedules a meeting, try to determine whether their presence is required to meet. Or, if the elements could be discussed in the agenda, by E-Mail, that would be a better place. You only get so many hours in a day, after all.
